Ah Boys to Men Part 2 Movie Review

Ah Boys to Men 《新兵正传》 Part 2 Movie Review:
The story of the movie continues from Ah Boys to Men Part 1. In Part 2, it shows how life changes a personality from a BOY to a MAN mindset. It screens through the hard work training of army life and at the same time it also how the audiences how the army life looks like in this new generation of 2013.

Ah Boys to Men Part 2 movie is very touching and warm-hearted. I tear at the last part of the movie during the POP graduation ceremony scene. The movie is very meaningful and self-thought; Hence, I believe that most of the parent will know how army trains their son during the 2-4 month of BMT training. Overall, I rate this Ah Boys to Men Part 2 Movie: 4/5 star.

Last but not least, I would like to thanks Nanyang Polytechnic and JTeam Production for the great invitation to the Ah Boys to Men 2 Gala Premiere. *Smiles*

Ah Boys to Men 2 Movie Synopsis:
After his recovery and realization of his mistakes, Ken returns to Tekong Island to continue his Basic Military Training (BMT). Determined to change, Ken prepares to prove himself.

However, this change in attitude from Ken, immediately draws the dislike and mockery from some his Section mates led by Lobang. They feel that he is following after Wayang King's footsteps, just trying to flatter the commanders so that he can stand out. Ken tries to explain but to no avail. Instead, their misunderstandings deepen as the training continues. At the same time, Ip Man's girlfriend left him for another guy. Unable to contain his anger, Ip Man seeks help from Lobang & his Section mates to hatch a plan for revenge on his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.

The new boyfriend immediately informs his gang, and quickly locate Lobang and the Section mates at their usual place where they will have dinner before booking in. A fight broke out. Wayang King was the first to escape, while Ken hesitated, but eventually stayed behind to defend his Section mates. When questioned by the Commanders, Ken defended his actions because he learned that he should "Leave no man behind" and can't just run away. Seeing his Section mates being beaten up, is he wrong to go through thick and thin with them?

After this incident, what else is in store for Ken? What punishment will be met out because of the fight? How will the antagonisms between Ken, Wayang King, Lobang and the rest of the Section mates be resolved? In such an environment of mutual distrust and sabotage, will they be able to shake hands and work together, to face their greatest challenge?

Get Your Sexy Back 2013 Encourages Youth to Reconsider Binge Drinking

APBS and Performers at One,Two,Many...Get Your Sexy Back

Last evening, I attended this year ‘Get Your Sexy Back’ (GYSB) with group of friends at Beer Market Clarke Quay. It was a superior entertaining night with friends watching live comedian performing on stage. Those performances were Jonathan Atherton and Kavin Jay and of course, my favourite local stand-up comedian Hossan Leong was there too! Their joke are Awesome and memorable!

GYSB - Get Your Sexy Back 2013 encourage youth to drink responsible. As part of this year’s campaign, APBS also conducted a GYSB survey to find out about young people’s alcohol consumption habits. Over 200 consumers between the ages of 18 and 34 years were surveyed in December 2012, which revealed that close to 40% of the participants classified as binge drinkers.

Joanathan Atherton, Kavin Jay and Hossan Leong

Contrary to public belief and the general association of binge drinking with youth between 18 to 24 years old, the survey revealed that those between 25 to 34 years old are more likely to binge drink, while a larger portion of women are engaging in binge drinking at an earlier age.

The Health Promotion Board (HPB) of Singapore classifies binge drinking as heavy drinking over a short period of time, which is defined as the consumption of five or more alcoholic drinks for males, or four or more alcoholic drinks for females.

Food Review: MAD (Modern Asian Diner) Restaurant

Last Tuesday, I attended a food tasting with few of my blogger friends at MAD (Modern Asian Diner) Restaurant at The Grandstand, Turf City. This my second time stepping into MAD Restaurant and I really admire the interior design of MAD Restaurant which look very classical and exquisite.

MAD, inspired by the alter ego of Singapore’s much celebrated performer, composer and playwright, Dick Lee, stands for ‘Modern Asian Diner’, and puts a new spin on the concept of dining. Led by TungLok Group, Bar Stories and Dick Lee, MAD is a five-way collaboration between top reputable Singaporean success stories.
